Don't You Be Tardy
7th-Dec-2009 01:25 am
It's a time when a lot of us have parties to attend, ja? Some good, some possibly good, some just from annoying obligations, some downright awful and full of baaaad consequences. But! If you could make a guest list of anybody you wanted, who would be on it and why? I mean, anyone: living, dead, estranged, met or unmet, without any of them battling each other... unless that's what you want. Who and why?
7th-Dec-2009 10:27 am (UTC)
"Oooo! Hey Schu!" John waves from his couch where he's cheerfully esconced, waiting for Eye Candy/ies.

"Anyone? Well, it'd have to have Jack on it, make that all the Jacks that populate this lovely Nexus. Hmmm, oh, my friend Minx who disappeared and the entire population of the planet Xon."
7th-Dec-2009 10:31 am (UTC)
It's a good thing I made that point about the party not being allowed to explode, because I can't imagine that many Jack Harknesses in one place all being Jack Harkness at the same time without something happening. Good show on the disappeared girl. I have someone I haven't seen in years who I still hope will show up eventually.
7th-Dec-2009 10:33 am (UTC)
John giggles. "It'd be the best orgy ever! It'd become like a universal holiday or something."

He tilts his head curiously. "Oh? Who's your missing friend?"
7th-Dec-2009 10:36 am (UTC)
People would speak of it in awed voices for generations to come.

I think I mentioned him to you before: Ritsuka, a kid from a place where all the kids have cat ears and tails. I liked him. He kept having trouble at home so I worry about what might have happened to him since I haven't seen him in the Nexus for years.
7th-Dec-2009 10:39 am (UTC)
"Oooo, yes! Cat boy!" John bounces on his couch a little.

"Ahem...er...sorry he disappeared...sure he's fine."

He's a little uncomfortable at this point, so subject change! "How you been, Schu?"
7th-Dec-2009 10:46 am (UTC)
Sure he is. ::Schu doesn't sound terribly convinced. If John had seen the kid, he'd know why.::

Work's been good and steady. Crawford hasn't been much of an ass, which is great, and I had a nice Thanksgiving with him and our kid-who-isn't-much-of-a-kid anymore. There's one person who's being a personal problem for me, and I'm still figuring out how to handle him.
7th-Dec-2009 10:51 am (UTC)
"My kid is still very much a kid..." he pouts. "She's with her mother this week, though."

He leans forward, curious! "Who's your problem then?" Dish, dish!
8th-Dec-2009 01:28 am (UTC)
Let's go off somewhere a bit private first so the whole Nexus doesn't have to listen to my complicated dumb-ass lovelife, ja?
8th-Dec-2009 01:31 am (UTC)
You don't have to ask twice, John jumps to his feet. "Sure! I've never been to your place..." He's rather surprised to realise this. "Lead on, good man!"
8th-Dec-2009 01:41 am (UTC)
::Schu quickly Portals over to his apartment alone first, to see if his kitten came by. Nope, no Aya. Schu brings John into his cozy kitchen, which is also the neatest room in the place.:: You want anything? Tea, pastries, booze?
8th-Dec-2009 01:43 am (UTC) - Are we taking this thread to your journal, or keeping it here
"You have to ask? Shame, Schu, shame! I thought you knew me better than that?" John makes a show of pouting.

He laughs then adds. "Booze, thanks."
8th-Dec-2009 01:53 am (UTC) - I'm okay with keeping it here, but also game to move, so...?
Well, if you have something all the time there's a chance of getting bored with it. ::Schu sets the bottle and a glass down on the table.:: You want any food to go with that booze?
8th-Dec-2009 02:04 am (UTC) - Come to http://hart-on-sleeve.livejournal.com/82319.html
"True, true...I do like keeping people on their toes. You can get me a green tea too, if you please!" He laughs.

"And pastries sound great!"
8th-Dec-2009 02:18 am (UTC) - Re: Come to http://hart-on-sleeve.livejournal.com/82319.html
((and Schu's at John's LJ now.))
7th-Dec-2009 05:49 pm (UTC)
"I just did that for Thanksgiving." Zoe makes her holoform chuckle as a little silver Seeker the size of a cat chirps away from her shoulder. "I had my parents, some friends from other realities, at least four alternates of my husband and my adopted uncles, everyone in the nexus where I live except the guys that keep to themselves...."

She thinks about it a little. "I think there's only three more people I might have liked to invite. Two are dead. They're my childhood boyfriend, his twin , and their younger brother."
8th-Dec-2009 01:32 am (UTC)
I used to go to parties like that all the time. My partner doesn't deal well with that kind of thing, though.

That's sweet. Might be an interesting conversation too.
8th-Dec-2009 01:44 am (UTC)
"Yeah." Her smile falters a little. "Especially since it was kind of my fault Rom and Beat died."

-No,- says a little mental voice that can only come from the Seeklet. -Not your fault, Mama. Was the bad Starscream's fault.-
8th-Dec-2009 01:50 am (UTC)
They might tell you differently if they could talk to you. ::As a telepath, Schuldig is getting some odd impressions here.::
8th-Dec-2009 01:53 am (UTC)
Probably very odd, since Zoe is actually that beautiful green Harrier jet that's sitting over there, and Silver is in actuality a baby Guardian Fae Dragon.

"Probably. Well, Beat would. Rom was always an aft every chance he got." Zoe manages to get her smile back a little as she remembers the boys.
8th-Dec-2009 02:11 am (UTC)
With the last type of person you just have to know how to translate 'em.
8th-Dec-2009 02:20 am (UTC)
"Oh I knew how to read Rom. I knew how to keep him in line, too." She gives a soft chuckle, then shakes her head. "They're alright now. Together in a good place away from the war."
8th-Dec-2009 02:36 am (UTC)
They have to be kept in line! For their own good.
8th-Dec-2009 02:37 am (UTC)
And now she's laughing, though her eyes are bright. "I used to sit on him and beat dents into his helm."
8th-Dec-2009 03:02 am (UTC)
I have to be a bit subtler with mine, though we do occasionally beat dents into each other. Though not as much as we used to.
8th-Dec-2009 07:23 pm (UTC)
"We were both less than a year old when I died and broke our bond. And even though my people don't generally have a physical childhood we were still kids. I guess that contributed to our violence level. That, and being born into a war." She glances at Silver, who grins at her. "I can't remember the last time I hit someone now."
9th-Dec-2009 12:15 am (UTC)
We were raised and trained for a violent profession that we both still work in, and sometimes that carries over.
9th-Dec-2009 06:05 pm (UTC)
"I've seen that happen, even at home where no war will ever happen. You do what you know."
